Ob sie im Streit mit ihrem Bruder Télasco (James Lee), der ihr Verrat vorwarf, ihre Liebe zu Cortez verteidigte, ob sie letzteren in süssestem lyrischen Legato anhimmelte, oder ob sie verzweifelte innere Zerrissenheit ausdrückte, immer gelang ihr das mit passender Stimmfärbung, stimmlicher Präsenz gegenüber Chor und Orchester und für einen Sopran weitgehend textverständlich. Mit ihrem geliebten Cortez hatte sie nur ein verhältnismässig kurzes Liebesduett. "
