French of Armenian origin, Melody Louledjian began her musical career by studying piano at the Nice Conservatory where she obtained her diploma with unanimity. Very attracted by opera singing and the stage, she joined the Conservatoire National de Musique de Lyon where she studied with Françoise Pollet, then perfected her skills with Edith Mathis at the Hochschule de Vienne.

​

She has more than thirty roles in her repertoire. Among the leading roles in her repertoire, she has performed Violetta /La Traviata, Lucia /Lucia di Lammermoor, Musetta/Bohème and Norina /Don Pasquale. She is now tackling a more lyrical repertoire and made her debut at the Theater Dortmund in the great role of Amazily in Fernand Cortez by Spontini.

She performs on the great international stages: the Paris Opera, the Bayerisches Staatsoper in Munich, the Grand-Théâtre de Genève (where she is soloist of the Ensemble from 2017 to 2019), the theater of Reggio Emilia, the Opéra de Bordeaux, the Opéra Comique de Paris, the Opéra de Lausanne, Manille, Nice, Lille, the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, the Theater Dortmund...

She sings under the musical direction of conductors such as Mikko Frank, Michael Güttler, Roberto Benzi, Paul Daniel, Paolo Olmi, Raphael Pichon, Hervé Niquet, Marko Letonja, Paolo Arrivabeni, Gergely Madaras, Alexander Joël and works with many great directors such as Laurent Pelly, Richard Jones and Antony Mc Donald, Emma Dante, Thomas Joly, David Alden, Michel Fau, Joan Font, etc.

Considered one of the best French lyric sopranos of her generation, Melody Louledjian tackles the classical and contemporary repertoires with equal pleasure. She is regularly invited by the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Ensemble Modern, Contrechamps, the Klangforum, at the Konzert Haus Berlin, the Tonhalle of Zürich, Düsseldorf, the Philharmonie of Paris, Cologne, etc., as well as in numerous international festivals.

She performs regularly in Recital and Concert, notably at the Chorégies d'Orange, the Auditorium of Lyon, the Maison de la Radio and La Cité de la Musique in Paris, the Radio Suisse Romande, New Year Festival Gstaad, etc.

Highly sought after for her vocal prowess and excellent musical ability, Melody Louledjian is equally impressive in classical and contemporary repertoire. She performs her first Lucia /Lucia di Lammermoor au Cultural Center of the Philippines in February 2020 and Violetta /La Traviata with the Tenerife Opera 2018.

​

French with Armenian roots singer, Melody Louledjian took up music at a very early age. After a First Prize for Piano, a Master’s degrees summa cum laude at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Lyon, and at the Hochschule in Vienna, she made her debut at the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux in 2009 playing Carmen in Le Balcon by Peter Eötvös. She attracted critical acclaim and is a regular guest singer at the theatre.

​

As a fine sight-reader with a sound musical grounding and an excellent ear, she is particularly at ease with contemporary repertoire. She is regularly invited by prestigious ensemble like Intercontemporain, Contrechamps, Ensemble Modern, l’Instant Donné and Klangforum.

She enjoys working with compositors, as being part of creation processes and performances experimentations. She appears on international stages and concert halls like the Philharmonic of Paris, the Konzert Haus Berlin, the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, the Tonhalle Düsseldorf, the Kölner Philharmonic, IRCAM, the Alte Oper of Franckort, the Radio Suisse Romande and numerous International Festivals: Alte Oper-Musikfest in Frankfurt, März Festival in Berlin, Acht Brücken Festival in Cologne and Düsseldorf, Algiers Festival, Festival d’Automne, Festival Musica in Strasbourg, Archipel Festival in Geneva, Royaumont in Paris.

She is one of the most recognized interpreters of Grisey's work Quatre Chant pour Franchir de Seuil, a piece she has performed on numerous occasions in the Philharmonie de Paris, Köln, the Alte Oper-Musikfest in Frankfurt and the Festival Archipel in Geneva.

From 2017 to 2019, she is part of the Ensemble of Solistes in residence at the Grand Théâtre de Genève. There she sang the roles of Princesse Elsbeth /Fantasio, Arsena /Der Tzigeuner Baron, Lola /Cavalleria Rusticana, Barberina /Le Nozze di Figaro, Frasquita /Carmen, Xenia /Boris Godunov and Luigia /Viva la Mamma.

She also performs in concert as in Carmina Burana at the St Etienne Opera, Beethoven's 9th Symphony at the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux, La Damoiselle Elue at the Philharmonie de Paris and the Maison de la Radio, in Gluck's Airs at the Nancy Opera, with the Camerata Ataremac in Lausanne in Britten's Illuminations, at the Chorégies d'Orange, the Opéra Comique, the Opéra de Nice, the Chapelle Reine Elisabeth de Belgique, the Auditorium de Lyon, the Institut français de Kyoto in Japan. She has given numerous recitals, notably at the Lille and Avignon Opera Houses and at the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux. She has been a guest at festivals such as the New Year Festival in Gstaad, and has performed with pianists Antoine Palloc and Giulio Zappa.

In addition to her solo career, she regularly gives master classes on contemporary music and free improvisation at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève and in several conservatories in France. She is a professor at the European Opera Academy.

​

Practicing several instruments, she has always cultivated other repertoires. Thus, in 2017, she released under the name of Melody Lou, an album entitled Follement 30' at Inoui Distribution. In this project of which she is at the origin, she covers the French songs of the 30s, accompanied by her accordion and a jazz quartet. This project has been touring regularly since its creation in the Jazz Festivals of the South of France.

 

In 2021, Melody Louledjian also produces a "Total Art" project merging voice, painting, dance and percussion in the form of performance. The body, covered with paint like a living brush, evolves in free vocal, corporal and percussive improvisation. The project is released as a video art object and online documentary, proposing a reflection on organicity, movement, gushing and the question of Beauty. Versatile artist, she also directs her first show "Noël Swing" in 2020, creation at the Grand Théâtre de Provence in Aix en Provence in December 2021.

Melody Louledjian is fluent in French, Italian, Spanish, English, German, Russian and has a basic knowledge of Greek.
